My husband John and I hired Scott Zucker as our Landscape Architect based upon our Architect, Tim Nicol’s high recommendation.  When we first met Scott and discussed our thoughts and wishes for our new home, we knew immediately that we had the right person for the job.  Not only didScott’s vision match ours, his easy going personality made you feel as though you’ve known him for years.  

Our home in Three Arch Bay was an old 1920’s cottage that had been added on a few times and didn’t flow well at all.  The yard was beautiful with lots of roses that tapered down our steep back yard, several decks and walkways but very little useable land.  We wanted to put a pool in for our kids, a fireplace and a build in TV area with a sitting area and a sand area to throw adirondack chairs around a fire pit. 

Scott said he could envision the possibilities and bring it all together. Scott’s first drawings of our pool and hardscape were so exciting to see on paper and his ideas just opened up our yard and pushed the envelope of what we could accomplish with our very difficult lot.  He opened up our front yard but kept the charming cottage feel that we loved when we first bought our house.  The blue stone, brick and plant designs were similar to the New England style we wanted to capture.  Scott also helped with the color scheme of the house and had a lot of great ideas for our designs.  We didn’t need to hire a separate designer to help with our project because we had such talented professionals on our job like Scott Zucker.

Scott was instrumental in so many ways, John and I couldn’t be happier with the way our project turned out.  Our friends and family love coming over and hanging out in our beautiful home.

As someone who has never retained the services of a Landscape Architect, I am very happy to testify to Scott Zucker’s professionalism, creative design, and collaboration with us to create our awesome pool and landscape design.   Scott understood our desire to create an outdoor living space where the pool, loggia and yard enhanced the existing architecture of our home, topography of the rear yard and our ocean view.

Scott also had to incorporate our neighbor’s concerns and earn approval through Laguna Beach’s Design Review Committee (not an easy feat).  We received Design Review Approval at our first hearing.

Scott also made sure the design was installed according to plan and answered contractors’ questions in a timely manner with no drama.
